Boys Varsity Tennis, Dan Miller Memorial Fund · A Coach Remembered

One of Silverton High School’s amazing long time coaches:  Dan Miller.  With sadness we share that Coach Miller, Boys Tennis, recently passed away.  Known and loved by many who remember his smile and kind heart, Dan’s passing was unexpected. Dan started with Silver Falls School District in 1993 as a Driver’s Ed teacher at the High School.  In 1998, he transferred to Robert Frost Elementary as the PE Teacher and remained there through the 2013-14 school year, retiring on July 1, 2014. During his tenure, Dan coached Softball and Basketball, but was most recently the Head Boys Tennis Coach from 2006-2018. He continued to support students and staff long after his retirement from teaching and coaching. ❤

For those interested, Silverton High School has set up a fund in honor of Coach Miller, which will support and improve the high school’s tennis facility.  The Miller family has suggested that donations to the Dan Miller Memorial Fund, in lieu of flowers, would be very much appreciated.  Checks can be mailed to SHS at 1456 Pine Street, Silverton, Oregon 97381, with a memo for the Dan Miller Memorial Fund.  You may also donate on-line at In Touch Donation; if you do not have an account through a student’s school information, you can create an account as a guest. Please contact us with any donation questions or concerns you may have.
