Coed Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Swim Standout Signs!


Marie Tolmachoff, one of the most talented and successful Swimmers to graduate from Silverton High School, has recently signed a commitment in academics and athletics to attend Whittier College in Whittier, CA.  Marie, under the coaching of SHS Lucky Rogers for all four years, culminated her high school swim career with several outstanding accomplishments:

DISTRICTS:  **1st Place in the 200m Medley Relay (along with teammates Samantha Zurcher, Maddie Broyhill and Maggie Kelley)  **1st Place in the 200m Free Relay (along with teammates Maddie Broyhill, Maggie Kelley and Catherine Hyde)  **1st Place in the 100m Breast Stroke.  Marie also took **4th in the 50m Free Style.

STATE:  Our girls Aqua Foxes took THIRD AT STATE, the highest level trophy in the history of Silverton High Swim Team.   Marie took **2nd in the 100m Breast Stroke,  **6th in the 50m Free Style  and was instrumental in the **200m Medley Relay team, taking 3rd!

Marie has researched and taken her time choosing from the four colleges and universities who have offered her a place on their aquatics teams.  She received from Whittier College the top award of the John Greenleaf Whittier Scholarship, which is given to one first-year applicant based on their academic record, Whittier admission GPA, and Standardized test results.  Congratulations Marie; we wish you much success at Whittier!
